Box itself is in like new condition, collector grade. Gameboy itself is good, has a bit of wear but good overall, e.g some scratching on screen and a bit of dust possibly under screen. The Game Boy released on April 21, 1989 in Japan, followed by North America on July 31, 1989, and lastly in Europe on September 28, 1990. It is characterized by a large grey casing and model number DMG-01. I am trying to reverse engineer the serial codes on the back of game boy colors (and DMGs too I guess), but I only have one, and that's my own, which is: CG172548218 = shaded. Please post yours so I can figure it out! So far the only thing I'm certain of is CG probably means color gameboy, and the shaded number means the color.

@coleeau depends on where and what is corroded. You can try and clean the corrosion but without seeing what you danage you have, there is no way to suggest any parts. Post an image of what you see with your question. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question to post images.
