For some reasons, Windows users sometimes would like to download macOS Sierra DMG similar to macOS Sierra VMware & VirtualBox file for installing macOS Sierra on Windows. You will lose any information you have in your external device in this process. After the dmg is restored to the external device, change your boot disk to this device and reboot.
